All-time winners of the UEFA Champions league, Real Madrid has added another trophy to their cabinet after winning the 2023/2024 edition of the prestigious tournament.
The current La liga champions, faced off with German club, Borrusia Dortmund in the final stage of the competition in the Wembley stadium in England.
The match started in a heated manner, and in the first few minutes, Dortmund dominated most of the play and had series of attempts to break the deadlock, but all their attempts were unsuccessful.
The first half of the game then ended in a goalless draw. But the half time break didn’t lower the momentum of the game as the game continued in the same vigorous manner.
But in the 74th minute, Real Madrid managed to take the lead after defender, Carvajal was able to head the ball home from a direct corner to make the scoreline 1:0.
And with just few minutes after the first goal, exactly in the 83rd minute, a Borrusia Dortmund’s player made a fatal mispass at the back line in which Real Madrid were able to capitalise on and extend their lead to 2 nill.
Dortmund managed to draw one back in the 87th minute, but it was ruled out due to offside.
The match ended Real Madrid 2:0 Dortmund; and the Spanish giants extend their astonishing record to 15 Champions league trophies.
