Trevoh Noah Finally Bags Emmy After 17 Nominations

At the  75th Annual Emmy Awards, Trevoh Noah clinched the Outstanding Talk Series trophy for his work on The Daily Show after 17 nominations over five years. This wasn’t his first Emmy, though; he’d already won one in 2017 for his show’s “Between the Scenes” segment.

Held back by Hollywood strikes, the Emmy Awards finally took place on Monday, honoring shows released between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023. Although Noah had exited The Daily Show and Comedy Central by September 2022, his work still qualified him for the win.

Taking the stage with his team, he delivered a heartfelt speech, cracking a joke about finally beating John Oliver (who competed in a different category).
