In Focus: EPL teams that should remain in the transfer market

With most football Clubs done with their pre-season activities, and a few done with transfer activities, it now looks as though the new football season can actually kick start without stuttering. However, as easy as that might sound, we still have every reason to believe that some of the top teams across Europe, especially in England are not quite in a good place just yet.

In this article, we take a look at some of the top teams in England who are still far from the finished deal or others who still haven’t gotten their missing piece.

1. Chelsea: The blues top this list, and rightly so. Chelsea have done a couple of businesses over the course of this summer, with the Club finally getting a new owner, and subsequently going on to sign Sterling and Koulibaly_both which are ideal purchases by all standards. Albeit, Technical director, Petr Cech and head of transfers Marina Granovskoaia have since left and haven’t been replaced.

The new season opens up in about four days, and without a proper forward man and another defender to replace Rüdiger and Christensen, the Club might have it all to do if they are to rub shoulders with the big boys this season.

2. Manchester United: The Old trafford boys have endured pre-season greeted with mixed reactions with the likes of Martial, Rashford, Fred and co flattering to deceive, but then again, it’s just pre-season, and it doesn’t usually have much to decide when the football season begins. For what it is, United doesn’t seem solid from the look of things. Plus, they still parade the same crop of players who finished outside the top four last season, and the only difference is the addition of Christian Eriksen, a young and inexperienced Tyrrell Malacia and a coach who is yet to prove himself in a decent league like the EPL.

It’s still early days, but we have every reason to think that if United do not solve their midfield and defense woes, they might still struggle yet again this season just as they did the last time.

3. Arsenal: Well, maybe the gunners shouldn’t be making this list, but they have their naivety and constant slip to thank for that. In recent years, Arsenal have shown signs and flashes of how good they can be, but they always end up bottling it when it matters_ just like they slipped out of the final Champions league spot last season when rivals, Spurs usurped them of that spot.

With notable additions already and a confidence boosting pre-season, they should come good, but with a squad of young boys who easily lose their cojones, there’s no reason to think they can’t fumble once more.

4. Everton: The Merseysiders narrowly escaped relegation by the whiskers last season, and with a summer that saw the sale of Richarlison and only a few recruitments, coupled with a timid coach at the helms, Evertonians might have a lot of issues going into this season.
