What exactly is happening in the bread Industry?

Due to the extraordinary rise in bakery supplies and the federal government’s disregard for this issue, bread manufacturers and caterers threatened to stop offering their services on Friday across the country.

As instructed by its national authority, the South-East Chapter of the Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (AMBCN) would stop providing its services as of July 13.

This information was provided in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abakaliki by the association’s zonal chairman, Dominic Nwibe.

The AMBCN’s primary concern is the high cost of production.

According to NAN, Mansur Umar, the National president of AMBCN, instructed members to go on a two-week strike starting on July 13 due to a rise in the cost of bakery supplies.

Like flour, which is made from wheat, the average price has increased. Other foods in Nigeria, such as cereals, pastries, cookies, biscuits, cakes, and noodles, can also be made from wheat by milling.
