EPL Matchday 7: Another weeked of huge expectations

After another round of European football action which saw an array of mixed results across Europe, domestic football has quickly returned and there’s no time for teams to dwell on their previous victories or lick wounds as the case may be.

In the EPL, Manchester United host Everton in the lunch time kickoff. An affair that might proof a tough one for the Old trafford outfits. Albeit they’ve managed to better the Toffees overtime, but their only victory over them last season was in the EFL cup after playing out to draws in the League over two legs.

Well, the difference is that there’s certain Ronaldo in the mix this time around, and if he keeps his red-hot form, he might well be the difference just like he was against Villarreal.

Ceteris paribus, Saturday shouldn’t see too many surprises. Chelsea would host a partly stubborn Southampton side at the Bridge, a side they last defeated in 2019. Tuchel must put his recent loses behind him and find a way to topple the Saints.

Any loss this time around could take the wind out of their sail, and that would not spell good for the German tactician, just as it won’t the confidence of the team.

On Sunday, Liverpool_ coming on the back of a 5-1 thrashing of Porto will be buoyed hosting Manchester City in what promsies to be a cracker of a match and we all can’t wait to see how that pans out. Whatever happens this weekend, I do hope Chelsea wins, while United stumbles and the duo of Liverpool and City share the spoils. That way, the EPL log would have a semblance of order.
