Movie Review: Namaste Wahala

Namaste wahala, the directorial debut of Hamisha Daryani Ahuja released on the 1st of December 2020 is everything you would expect from the Nigerian cross cultural romantic comedy.

With a healthy supply of cheese and a sprinkle of veteran actors. It can give telemundo a run for it’s money.

The film stars Ini Dima-Okojie and Ruslaan Mumtaz in the lead roles. The name Namaste wahala translate to hello trouble, I initially thought it meant the wahala (trouble) that Namaste (meaning Indians) caused.

It is a rom-com about an Indian man and a Nigerian woman who fall in love, the movie is so cherry and cheesey and much like the typical Bollywood movie that if I dissect it to deeply watching it would not be essential.

But you really need to see it, on days you are feeling down just relax and allow Didi, Raj and their group of friends make you laugh and maybe awwwwwn as well.

Here’s a little heads up, you may cry just a bit.
