Liverpool Knocked Out of Champions League by PSG After Penalty Shootout

Liverpool FC have been eliminated from the 2024/2025 Champions League season by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following a 1-0 defeat and a 4-1 loss on penalties at Anfield.

The match started with high energy, as Liverpool pressed forward in search of an early advantage. However, PSG struck first in the 12th minute when Ousmane Dembélé scored, bringing the overall score to 1-1 on aggregate.

Both teams had several chances to take the lead, but neither could find the breakthrough during normal time or extra time. With the tie still level, the game went to a penalty shootout.

PSG’s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, played a crucial role, saving penalty kicks from Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones. PSG capitalised on their chances, winning the shootout 4-1 and securing their place in the next round, while Liverpool bowed out of the competition.
