The World Bank has approved a $632 million loan to help Nigeria improve nutrition and basic education, despite concerns about the country’s increasing debt.
According to the World Bank’s website, the loan includes $80 million for the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria 2.0 project and $552 million for the HOPE for Quality Basic Education for All program. These loans were approved on Monday as part of the World Bank’s efforts to support Nigeria’s healthcare, education system.
The goal is to improve nutrition and provide better access to quality education for children in Nigeria. The nutrition project aims to reduce malnutrition and improve children’s health, while the education program focuses on strengthening the basic education system.
While these loans can help Nigeria develop, some experts worry about the country’s growing debt. They advise the government to use the money wisely and plan for long-term financial stability.
