Russia Warns the United States, United Kingdom and Ukraine Over Nigeria Protests Accusations

Russia has given a strong warning to the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine after they accused it of being involved in protests in Nigeria. Russia denied the accusations and said these countries are the ones interfering in Nigeria’s affairs and trying to damage its relationship with Russia.

This warning came after concerns about foreign influence grew following protests in Nigeria on October 1st. The protests were against economic changes made by President Bola Tinubu. His government removed subsidies on fuel and electricity and devalued the naira, Nigeria’s currency, which upset many people.

Earlier, in protests on August 1st in Kano, some protesters were seen waving Russian flags. This raised fears about Russia’s influence, especially because Russia is becoming more involved in West Africa. Many Nigerians are now worried about what this could mean for their country.
