Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has introduced a Youth Internship Scheme aimed at equipping 10,000 youths from the region with skills and stipends. The scheme, launched by Chairman Chiedu Ebie, focuses on addressing educational and skill deficiencies among young people in the Niger Delta. The program is free and online, ensuring a transparent registration process without intermediaries. Applicants must be under 45 years old to qualify.
During the launch, Ebie emphasized that the initiative is designed to provide stipends during the internship, promoting self-sufficiency among participants. He also highlighted special provisions for individuals with disabilities and the age limit to prevent older applicants from displacing eligible youths.
Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku warned participants to maintain proper conduct, as quarterly reports will monitor behavior, and any misconduct could lead to expulsion from the scheme. The program covers various fields, including technology, craftsmanship, community service, finance, sports, and more. Each state will initially have 500 participants, with additional slots allocated based on crude oil production quotas. The NDDC has ensured a robust database to handle the application process without crashes, utilizing six servers to manage the anticipated high traffic.
