Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt
A Shuaibu Yushau was apprehended by the police after attempting to take his own life by climbing a high broadband mast at ASO Radio in Katampe, Abuja. The incident, which occurred on Monday, caused significant alarm among residents.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has transferred Yushau to the Social Development Secretariat (SDS) for a comprehensive mental assessment and evaluation. This decision due to concerns about his well being after the incident.
A statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that if Yushau is found to be mentally stable following the evaluation, he will face legal charges. These charges include attempted suicide, disturbance of public peace, and incitement, as stipulated under sections 231, 111, and 114 of the Penal Code Act.
CP Benneth Igweh, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, emphasized the importance of lawful conduct among residents. He urged individuals to express their grievances through proper channels, assuring that the police are committed to maintaining law and order in the community.
The incident has emphasised on the need for mental health awareness and support within the community, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading to Yushau’s actions.
