Adekunle Gold Inspires Sickle Cell Warriors In Powerful Message

Afrobeats sensation Adekunle Gold, who has battled sickle cell anemia since birth, paused during a recent performance to share an inspiring message with fellow survivors.

Transparent about his ongoing struggle, he expressed gratitude for being able to successfully manage the ailment. He encouraged the warriors with his story, stating, “If I can do it, you can do it.”

He urged sickle cell warriors not to let their condition hinder their aspirations, stating, “Nothing should stop you.”

In a July 2022 newsletter, he detailed the physical, mental, and financial toll of sickle cell disease. He recounted childhood restrictions, lost friendships, and societal misunderstandings.
