The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially qualified for the knockout stages of the 2023 African Cup of Nations hosted in Ivory Coast, after defeating Guinea Bissau 1:0 in the last match of the group stage.
The Super Eagles dominated most of the match, but the only difference between the two sides was the own goal scored by the Guinea Bissau player in the 37th minute.
Nigeria had lots of chances to extend the lead, but couldn’t capitalize on their chances.
Winning 1:0 against Guinea Bissau means Nigeria finishes second of their group with 7 points, only behind Equatorial Guinea who tops the group based on goal difference.
Hosts, Ivory Coast finished in third place, with 3 points, while Guinea Bissau sits bottom after failing to secure a point in all three matches.
