Newcastle defeats Brentford 1-0 at St James’ Park thanks to Callum Wilson’s penalty, which he converted calmly after Brentford’s Mark Flekken fouled Anthony Gordon.
Aston Villa 3-1 Crystal Palace
Aston Villa come from a goal down to eventually beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Villa Park. Odsonne Edouard gave Palace the lead; Jhon Duran equalized for Villa in the 87th minute; and added-time goals from Douglas Luiz and Leon Bailey secured the victory.
Manchester United 0-2 Brighton & Hove Albion
Manchester United suffered a humiliating defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford which ended their unbeaten home streak. Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for Brighton while Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro added two goals. Hannibal Mejbri scored a goal for Manchester United but the hosts have now lost three of their first five Premier League games.
West Ham United 0-2 Manchester City
Manchester City secured a comfortable victory over West Ham United. James Ward-Prowse scored the opener for Westham, before Jeremy Doku leveled; second-half goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland earned City the win.
