Hilda Baci Aims To Break Guinness World Record With Cook-A-Thon

TV producer, actress, and foodpreneur, Hilda Baci, has announced her intention to hold a four-day cook-a-thon from May 11 to 14, 2023, in Lagos, Nigeria, that she hopes will break the Guinness World Records.

Baci, who is the CEO of My Food by Hilda, plans to showcase her culinary skills using various local and intercontinental recipes to put Nigeria on the global culinary map. She intends to break the record set by Chef Lata London in India in 2019, which is 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.

At a press conference in Lagos, Baci explained that the goal of the Cook-a-thon is to inspire young girls to achieve their dreams. “My victory is a win for young women across the continent in breaking barriers and leaving a lasting impact,” she said.

Baci is a graduate of Sociology from Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, and her passion for cooking was influenced by her mother’s culinary techniques. She started My Food with her brother while still a student and extended her skills to TV, hosting cooking segments on Rave TV’s Morning Rave and Pop Central TV’s Dine on a Budget.

Prior to Dine on a Budget, Baci worked as the lunch division manager for a breakfast company, where she gained experience in running a culinary business. She started My Food by Hilda in February 2020, making bowl recipes during the lockdown.

Baci has previously showcased her skills on various cooking shows and represented Nigeria at the Jollof Faceoff Competition in 2021, which she won. The Guinness World Record attempt is her latest feat in driving her entrepreneurial vision for impact and attracting more investors and collaborators toward the expansion of Food by Hilda.
