Donald Trump Promises to End Policies Supporting Transgender Rights

President-elect Donald Trump has announced plans to end several policies supporting transgender rights when he takes office. Speaking at an event for young conservatives in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, Trump pledged to take immediate action on his first day as president.

“I will sign executive orders to stop child sexual mutilation, remove transgender individuals from the military, and ensure they are not part of elementary, middle, or high schools,” he stated.

Trump also promised to ban transgender women from participating in women’s sports, saying the U.S. government would officially recognize only two genders: male and female.

This announcement comes as Republicans, who will control both Congress and the White House, continue their efforts to limit LGBTQ rights. Last week, Congress passed a defense budget that blocks funding for some gender-affirming healthcare for the children of service members.
