Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt
There were a lot of controversies and confusion in the opening game in the men’s football Olympic tournament, after Morocco defeated reigning World champions, Argentina 2:1.
Argentina thought they had earned a point from a potential 2-2 draw when Cristian Medina scored in the 16th minute of added time.
But as their players celebrated, objects, which included bottles and plastic cups were thrown down down from the stands and lots of fans invaded the pitch, with forced the referee to stop the match temporarily.
Both teams left the pitch, but the referee had not blown the final whistle which made the outcome of the match completely unclear.
Two hours later, the match was restarted and extra three minutes were added after Medina’s goal was eventually ruled off for offside following a VAR review, which made Morocco go home with all three points.
The outcome of the match has therefore generated lots of controversies among players, fans and the football world in general.
