FG Lifts Ban, NYSC Members Can Now Work in Private Companies

The Federal Government has announced that members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) can now be posted to private companies, such as banks and oil and gas firms. This is a change from the previous policy that only allowed corps members to work in public sector organizations.

The Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, shared this news in a memo dated November 18, 2024. According to the memo, the new rule will start with the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Orientation exercise.

This means corps members will now have more opportunities to gain work experience in private sector organizations during their service year.
