Afrobeats icon Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has unveiled his sixth studio album, Morayo, through Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records. Released on November 22, 2024, the album is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
The title, Morayo, meaning “I see joy” in Yoruba, reflects Wizkid’s emotional journey and dedication to celebrating his mother’s life. Declaring it his best work yet, the Grammy winner stated, “Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!”
The 16-track album showcases collaborations with a star-studded lineup, including Brent Faiyaz (Piece of My Heart), Asake (Bad Girl), Tiakola (Après Minuit), Jazmine Sullivan (Bad For You), and Anaïs (Slow). Among its highlights are the chart-topping singles Kese (Dance) and Piece of My Heart, which have already captured international attention.
