The Confederation of African Football [CAF] has delisted the second-leg match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights from the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers schedule.
The game was originally planned to take place in Libya after the first leg in Uyo, Nigeria, where the Super Eagles won 1-0 with a last-minute goal.
But the return leg has been surrounded by controversy. Nigerian players and officials reported being stuck at a Libyan airport for over 14 hours, leading them to return to Nigeria. In response, CAF announced it is investigating the situation.
CAF has also updated its list of matches for Tuesday, with the Nigeria vs. Libya game missing from the schedule on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
