Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt
Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has been banned from five international games after an incident with fans. This happened after Uruguay, his national team, lost to Colombia in the Copa America semi-final in July.
Nunez, was seen confronting Colombia fans after the game during a fight breakout among players and fans. He was also fined £15,145 ($20,000) for his actions.
Conmebol, the South American football organization, announced on Wednesday that Nunez and four other players were banned. In total, 11 players were fined for being part of the incident.
This ban is a setback for Uruguay’s coach, Marcelo Bielsa, as his team has important World Cup qualifying matches in September and October.
