Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt

Video Footage from the rally shows Trump groaning and raising a hand to his right ear before ducking as a series of sharp sounds filled the air. Reacting swiftly, the US Secret Service agents swarmed Trump, a escorted him off stage to a waiting vehicle. As he was bundled into the car, Trump raised a fist, signaling his resilience.
The FBI later identified the suspected gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, aged 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Crooks was shot dead at the scene by US Secret Service officers.
In a post on his Truth Social network, Trump revealed that a bullet had pierced the upper part of his right ear. Earlier, his spokesperson confirmed that he was receiving treatment at a local medical center.
“I knew immediately that something was wrong when I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin,” Trump wrote. “Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”
