Man City Holds Real Madrid To a Draw In a Six-goal Thriller

The quarter finals of the 2023/2024 champions league campaign kicked off on a superb note as the all time champions, Real Madrid, hosts current winners Manchester City at the Santiago Bernaneu stadium in Spain.

The match began with so much intensity, that Manchester City was able to find the back of the net as early as the 2nd minute through a direct free kick from Bernado Silva.

Real Madrid then drew level in the 12th minute after a Camavinga scored from a deflection to equalize the game. And just two minutes after their first goal, Real Madrid took the lead after a beautiful solo goal from Rodrygo.

Manchester City didn’t back down, as in the 67th minute, Phil Foden was able to beat the Real Madrid’s goalkeeper from outside the box to draw the game level.

And with just 20 minutes of normal time to go, Manchester city took the lead after defender, Josko Gvardiol fired a superb shot from outside the box to top corner of the goal, turning the score 2:3 in favour of Manchester city.

Just as Manchester city thought they were going home with the win, Real Madrid equalized the game in the 79th minute after an amazing solo goal from Federico Valverde.

The match then ended 3:3, as both sides will seek to turn things around in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium in England.
