Tiwa Savage has recently lodged a formal complaint against Davido, alleging threats to her life and assault resulting in severe bodily harm. This dispute arose after both artists unfollowed each other on Instagram, prompting widespread speculation on social media. In her appeal to Lagos State Police Commissioner Fayoade Mustapha, Tiwa Savage urged authorities to hold Davido responsible for any potential harm to herself or her family.
The altercation originated when Tiwa posted about Davido’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, on December 23, 2023. Davido, reacting to the post, reportedly contacted Tiwa’s manager, accusing her of provocation. Tiwa claimed that despite her past support for Davido during the difficult period of losing his son, she had advised him not to contact her anymore. This decision allegedly angered Davido, leading to his threat of causing harm with the words “be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up.”
Expressing concerns about both online and offline harassment, Tiwa characterized Davido’s actions as unethical and a direct violation of her constitutional rights, as outlined in the Nigerian Constitution and the Cybercrime Act. The formal complaint highlights the intricate relationships within the Nigerian entertainment industry, emphasizing the complexities of managing personal issues in the public domain.
