Meet Odunayo Eweniyi, our Gleetz Woman of the Week.
Odunayo Eweniyi is a dynamo in the Nigerian FinTech industry. As the Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of PiggyVest and a driving force behind the Feminist Coalition, Eweniyi is not just breaking barriers; she’s shattering them.
In 2013, Odunayo Eweniyi graduated with a First Class in Computer Engineering from Covenant University. After finishing her degree, she took a bold step into FinTech. What came next? She teamed up with Somto Ifezue and Joshua Chibueze to launch Push CV. But that was just the beginning. In 2016, they went on to create PiggyVest, their standout achievement.
Beyond the boardroom, Eweniyi is also an activist. In 2020, when the End SARS protests echoed through Nigeria, she was more than a spectator. During the End SARS protests in 2020, she took a leading role in fundraising efforts, providing medical care and legal aid to victims of police brutality. In 2021, she joined forces with Eloho Oname to launch First Check, a beacon supporting women-led startups in Africa.
Odunayo Eweniyi is not just a name; she’s a symphony of innovation and activism. Her journey from a first-class graduate to a tech icon is an embodiment of brilliance, determination, and social impact—an awe-inspiring tale for anyone daring to dream big.
