Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has been officially certified by Guinness World Records as the new holder of the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Hilda cooked for 100 hours straight last month, breaking the previous record of 87 hours 45 minutes set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019.
After reviewing all evidences, the record now stands at 93hours 11minutes due to some miscalculations in her rest breaks.
Hilda Baci’s record-breaking attempt created a sensation on social media, captivating millions of people in Nigeria and beyond, who eagerly followed her progress through a live stream on Instagram.
The overwhelming popularity of her cook-a-thon caused the GWR website to crash for two days due to the unprecedented volume of traffic.
