Lekki Conservation Centre: A Haven for Wildlife and Nature

Are you a tourist searching for a natural reserve or a local seeking a spot to unwind and enjoy yourself, the Lekki Conservation Centre is the perfect destination for you.

Lekki Conservation Centre is a nature reserve located in Lagos, Nigeria, that spans 190 acres and is dedicated to the preservation of various plant and animal species, especially endangered ones, to prevent them from going extinct.

The centre provides a habitat for a variety of animals, such as monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, and birds, and offers visitors opportunities to explore and appreciate nature through various activities such as hiking, walking on the canopy walkway, and birdwatching.

At the conservation centre, you can engage in various activities, including walking on the canopy walkway, spotting wildlife such as monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, and colourful birds, playing life-sized board games, taking a stroll on the boardwalk, and climbing up to the treehouse for a panoramic view of the park.

The conservation centre is open every day from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and the best time to visit is during the dry season between October to March. During the rainy season, the paths may get muddy and the canopy walkway is inaccessible for safety reasons.

To enter the centre, adults pay a fee of 1,000 naira, while children aged 10 and below are charged 200 naira and those between the ages of 11 to 17 are charged 300 naira. If you want to go on the canopy walkway, there is an additional fee of 1,000 naira.

When dressing for the visit, wear weather-appropriate clothes, such as tees and shorts during the dry season, and windbreakers, hoodies, or sweaters during the rainy season. Comfy shoes are recommended, and heels should be avoided. Don’t forget to bring sunglasses or a cap, and pack some food and drinks for a picnic.

All these would help you have an amazing time at the centre.
