In Focus: Pressured Potter will get another chance this weekend

Another weekend of footballing action is upon us, and while it proposes to be another great day at the office for some, same can’t be said for a certain Potter who appear to be sitting on egg shells, living dangerously these past few months while flirting with the sack all at the same time. The rumour mill surrounding Chelsea seem to have gone into overdrive, and it’s not looking good at all.

After managing to muster just some measly points in as many games, and consequently rooted in 10th on the log, it’s increasingly looking like Potter is treading on borrowed time at Stamford Bridge.

The English man wasn’t overly a fan favourite at his appointment by Club’s new Chiefs, but after a decent run of five three wins and two draws in his first five fixtures, he seem to be endearing himself to the blues faithful. However, all of that looks to have fizzled away with the recent form which leaves the blues stuck in an unfamiliar position on the log below the likes of Newcastle, Brighton and even Brentford.

This weekend, Chelsea take on a depleted Leeds United sides who are equally managing to weather their own storm, and it’s expected that Potter sees this one out. Although not like he’s used to, considering that he recently lost to Southampton, a side sitting at the foot of the table. If he loses to Leeds at the Bridge this weekend, then it may well spell the end of his reign at the club.

For now, he and his backroom staff can only hope for the best, and start picking up maximum points everywhere they go, otherwise just like Tuchel, he might as well kiss his job goodbye.
