Delta Nursing Students’ Song About First Lady Sparks Controversy

A video from the Delta State School of Nursing, Agbor, has gone viral, which has caused a lot of controversy over a song sung by students for Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

In the video, the event’s MC called Tinubu “our mama,” but the students responded with a different chant: “Na your mama be this oh eh.” The clip spread quickly online, generating a lot of controversies.

After the recent video went viral, the school management issued a query to the students involved, accusing them of sharing the video without permission. This then led to various public reaction, with many Nigerians questioning the right to freedom of expression in the country.

Following the backlash from different angles, Delta State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, ordered the immediate withdrawal of the query. He assured that no student would face punishment over the incident.
