NYSC begins payment of ₦77,000 allowance to corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has finally began disbursing the newly approved monthly allowance of ₦77,000 to corps members, effective March 2025.

This increase follows the Federal Government’s decision in September 2024 to raise the allowance from ₦33,000 in line with the National Minimum Wage Act 2024.

Despite being approved in September 2024, the implementation was delayed, resulting in corps members receiving the increased allowance six months later. Last week, the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, reassured members that the new allowance would take effect in March 2025.
