Jubilations as Stranded NASA Astronauts Returns Back to Earth After Nine Months

On Tuesday, 18th March, NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore returned to Earth after spending more than nine months in space. They landed safely in the Gulf of Mexico inside a SpaceX crew capsule. Originally, their mission was meant to last only a few weeks, but unexpected delays kept them in space much longer.

After their capsule landed, rescue teams opened the spacecraft and carefully carried the astronauts out. They were then placed on stretchers. However, they were not sick or injured. This is simply a normal procedure that all astronauts follow after returning from space.

Experts explain that astronauts cannot walk immediately after landing because their bodies go through changes while in space. The weightlessness of space affects their muscles, bones, and balance. When they return to Earth’s gravity, their bodies need time to adjust. That is why NASA has strict safety measures in place to help them recover properly.

Despite the long mission, the astronauts are in good health and high spirits. Experts say that staying in space for nine months did not cause any major health problems, and they are receiving the same care as they would have if their trip had been planned for that length of time.
