Nigerian football Player, Ademola Lookman has been named the African Player of the Year at the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards. The event took place in Marrakech, Morocco, and celebrated the best talents in African football.
Lookman, who plays for Italian club Atalanta, had an amazing year. He impressed fans with his speed, skill, and ability to score important goals. His performances were key to Atalanta’s success in Serie A and helped Nigeria qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The center forward also shined in the UEFA Europa League, scoring crucial goals that made a big difference for his team, and a hat-rick in the final to win the trophy.
His consistent displays throughout the season earned him recognition as one of Africa’s top football players.
Lookman beat tough competition from other talented players, including Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, to win the award.
