Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has recently shared his feelings about the difficult period following his 2015 election loss, which made him the first sitting Nigerian president to lose re-election.
Speaking in Abuja at the first Raymond Dokpesi Annual Diamond Lecture, hosted by Daar Communications and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Jonathan described the experience as his toughest moment in politics.
Running as the candidate for the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jonathan lost to Muhammadu Buhari. He said that, at the time, it felt like the world was against him, making the loss especially hard. He further emphasised that the experience was one of the most challenging period of his political career.
