Reps Member, Abiola Makinde, launches Interest-Free Cooperative Scheme

Hon. Abiola Makinde, Member Representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, recently launched an interest-free cooperative scheme in fulfilment of his campaign promises. The scheme which is in partnership with Dr. Rhoda Makinde Intiative (DROMI) flagged off with the issuance of cheques of about 10 million naira to various trader associations in Ondo East and West Local Governments.

Hon. Makinde in his speech noted that this is a tip of the iceberg as his intent is to contribute his quota to the development of Ondo Kingdom as he was voted by the people to serve and he promised to keep providing good quality and responsive representation. During the event he promised to pay the next WAEC registration of students in the constituency.

Dr. Rhoda Makinde ably represented by Mrs. Oluronbi said the scheme will be continuous and it is in a bid to reduce the burden of getting funds for business as this scheme does not attract any interest. She urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of money in a view to improve their businesses.

Some of the beneficiaries couldn’t hide their joy as they said this is first of its kind in the history of Ondo Kingdom and thanked the MHR for not reneging on his campaign promises. Check some of the images from the landmark event.
