Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt
Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been officially sworn in as the Governor of Ondo State, beginning his first full four-year term. His inauguration took place on Monday at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital.
Aiyedatiwa became governor following the passing of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in December 2023. Before his death, Akeredolu had transferred power to Aiyedatiwa, who was his deputy at the time.
Two months after winning the governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aiyedatiwa took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Olayide Adelami. After the ceremony, he rode around the complex in an open van, waving to supporters who cheered him on.
With his swearing-in, Aiyedatiwa now officially takes charge of Ondo State for the next four years.
