Governor Adeleke Denies Insulting Tinubu, Commends President for Supporting Rule of Law

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has denied making any negative remarks about President Bola Tinubu, dismissing reports suggesting otherwise as fake news. Speaking to journalists in his hometown, Ede, Adeleke reiterated his commitment to collaboration with the federal government and commended President Tinubu for upholding the rule of law during the recently conducted local government elections in the state.

Commitment to Fair Elections

Adeleke praised the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) for conducting a seamless election process, noting that it was a significant step toward strengthening democracy at the grassroots level. He emphasized his administration’s dedication to free and fair elections and urged the public to disregard misleading reports aimed at creating political tension.

“I did not at any point utter any negative remarks about Mr. President,” he said. “All the news articles suggesting otherwise are fake. I have been very supportive and collaborative with the federal government. In my two broadcasts, I did not in any way attack the president.”

Peaceful Electoral Process

The Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, also lauded the electorate for turning out in large numbers to exercise their democratic rights. He expressed confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) securing victory in the elections.

“I want to commend the electorate for coming out en masse to cast their votes,” Igbalaye stated. “The election has been peaceful, and I know that the PDP will emerge victorious.”
