Former US President Donald Trump Shot But Escapes Assassination Attempt

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has granted pardon to Segun Olowookere, popularly known as the “death-for-fowl” convict, along with Sunday Morakinyo, and 51 other inmates.
Segun Olowookere was just 17 years old when he was arrested in November 2010. In 2014, he was sentenced to death by an Osun State High Court for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery, and stealing. Recently, his case gained widespread attention after his mother appeared on a podcast, pleading for mercy for her son.
The story quickly went viral on social media, catching the attention of Governor Adeleke. He then instructed the state’s attorney general to begin the process for Olowookere’s pardon.
In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, it was announced that 53 convicts, including Olowookere and Morakinyo, had been pardoned. The statement explained that the decision was based on recommendations from the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy.
